Taos Community Dr. Seuss Spirit Week
Dear School and Community Leaders,
To honor the beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss and celebrate the joy and value of reading, we would like to invite your school or organization to partner with us in hosting a community-wide Read Across America Dr. Seuss Spirit Week from Monday, March 2 – Friday, March 6, 2026.
Our goal is to bring schools, local organizations, businesses, and community groups together in a fun and engaging celebration that promotes literacy, creativity, and community spirit.
Each day of the week will highlight a favorite Dr. Seuss book with a themed spirit activity:
Monday – “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish”
Wear Red and Blue.
Tuesday – “Fox in Socks”
Wear bright, colorful, fun, or just plain crazy socks (and roll up your pants to show them off!).
Wednesday – “Wacky Wednesday”
Wear wacky clothes — mismatched, inside out, or backwards.
Thursday – “Green Eggs and Ham”
Wear Green.
Friday – “The Cat in the Hat”
Wear your favorite hat — the sillier, the better!
We simply ask that participating groups help spread the word and encourage students, staff, families, and community members to join in the Spirit Week festivities.
Together, we can make this a memorable and meaningful week that celebrates reading and brings our community together. If I forgot someone please forward my email to them or let me know.
We look forward to your participation!
Sincerely,
