We are reaching out with both gratitude and honesty, as our biggest fundraiser of the year for Taos Charter School is already in full swing!
What It Is
Every year, TCS hosts the Taos Youth Basketball games, and selling concessions is an incredible opportunity to raise money to support our kids, teachers, and classrooms.
How Your Child Benefits From This Fundraiser
Every single classroom gets an equal share of the profits so that teachers can build programs, purchase materials, and provide low-cost field trips that would not otherwise be possible. It also helps support after-school art programs, improve the grounds (like the new playground equipment), renovate the library, and make repairs. It provides enrichment, creativity, and opportunity!
Why Your Contribution Matters
When families participate, teachers feel supported. When teachers feel supported, classrooms thrive. When classrooms thrive, children flourish.
Truth be told, year after year, we struggle to find enough support and participation from our own school community to really knock it out of the park. This fundraiser only works if we do it together. We are asking, truly asking, for your help. We know you are busy and schedules are full, but many hands can do great things! A single 3-hour shift, a single food donation, or one weekend of help makes a huge difference.
Please consider showing up however you can. Our kids and teachers are counting on us!
There are two ways you can help: working at the concession stand and donating food.
Concession stand hours
· Fridays: 5:30–8:00 PM
· Saturdays: 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM, in 3-hour shifts
· Location: TCS Cafeteria
We know this may not sound pleasant, but it is fun getting to know other families while slinging nachos!
Food Donations
This year, we will be serving breakfast burritos, all-beef hot dogs, nachos, ramen noodles, and fresh pizza, in addition to the usual pickles, candy, and soda. Please see SignUpGenius to see which food items we need each week. Item quantities will be updated regularly throughout the season.

Host Schedule by Grade
To help plan and consolidate your volunteer efforts, we’ve organized a host for each weekend. If your child’s grade is hosting a weekend you're unavailable, please find another! Your help is still deeply needed and appreciated.
· January 16 & 17 – Friends of TCS
· January 23 & 24 - Kindergarten
· January 30 & 31 – 1st grade
· February 6 & 7 -- 2nd grade
· February 13 & 14 NO GAMES
· February 20 & 21 – 3rd grade
· February 27 & 28 -- 4th grade
· March 6 & 7 -- 5th grade
· March 13 & 14 NO GAMES
· March 21 & 22 -- 6th grade
· March 28 &29 -- 7th grade
· April 3 & 4 -- 8th grade
