Sonya Anaya

Welcome back to another school year!

I’ve been teaching students for a decade now! My first 5 years I taught in the general education classroom and special education throughout my career.

I received my Master’s Degree in Special Education in 2020 in the midst of the pandemic. I began my career in Questa and then moved to the Taos Municipal Schools where I had been employed for the last seven years. I decided to make the change to Taos Charter in August 2022. I am very excited for this new opportunity. I truly love what I do and will be an advocate for your child in the classroom.

When you don’t see me in school, I am a mom to 3 children, Estevan, Ian, and Hayleigh. I’m also a firefighter wife and a dog mom to Thor and Nala. In my spare time I enjoy going to the gym.
