The Field Institute of Taos (FIT), in partnership with Mountains to Mountains, proposes to implement a two-day Trail Ready: Wilderness Medicine Training for teen participants in Taos and surrounding rural communities who participate in Field Institute of Taos programming.

The FIT is a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting youth to the natural environment through outdoor education, stewardship, and experiential learning. Mountains to Mountains is a nonprofit organization that provides culturally responsive, trauma-informed programming focused on empowerment, education, and resilience.

Through this collaboration, FIT will host Mountains to Mountains to deliver a two-day training designed specifically for Teens. This Wilderness Medicine Training combines foundational wilderness medicine skills with safety based decision making, stress regulation, and trauma-informed approaches to care.
