Job Description:
Taos Charter School is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Educational Assistant to support a student with mobility needs. This position involves providing physical assistance, personal hygiene care, and classroom support to help the student fully participate in their educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide mobility assistance, including transferring and repositioning a student who uses a wheelchair (must be able to lift at least 60 pounds).

• Assist with personal hygiene tasks in a respectful and professional manner.

• Support classroom engagement by helping the student with:

  • Scribing written responses

  • Reading aloud and comprehension

  • Completing academic tasks under teacher supervision

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or experience in special education preferred

• Ability to lift and support at least 60 pounds safely and consistently

• Reliable, empathetic, and patient

• Experience working with children or individuals with physical disabilities a plus

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow school policies and procedures
